The History of Pest Control
The application of pest control ranges from do-it-yourself arrangements to
scientific and very precise deployment of chemicals and predatory insects by
highly skilled practitioners. Despite the fact that pest control is a world-wide
industry it is still dominated by family or 1-person businesses. Those that need
to control pests range from householders to
large scale agri-conglomerates who need to maximise their yield. In between
these two are restaurants, bars, food production facilities, farmers - in fact,
anybody that routinely deals with food. Pest control can make us more
comfortable - but can also save lives.
The word pest is subjective as one man's pest may be another man's
helper. For instance, pest A may be a threat to crop A, and pest B a threat to
crop B. However, if pest B is a natural predator to pest A, then the farmer who
wishes to protect crop A may cultivate and release pest B amongst his crops.
There is a theory that without man's intervention in the food chain through
agriculture, hunting and long distance travel there would be no pests. The
theory continues that man's intervention (for instance, in cultivating and
releasing pest B, or in carrying creatures long distances) has upset the balance
of the food chain, producing instability in insect and other animal numbers and
distorting their evolution. This instability has led to over-population of a
given
species with the result that they have become pests. Having said this, if we assume that the very first fly swat was the first
instance of pest control - and we know that large animals swat flies - it could be
argued that pest control dates back way before humans came on the scene.
The first recorded instance of pest control takes us back to 2500BC when the Sumerians
used sulphur to control insects. Then around 1200BC the Chinese, in their great
age of discovery towards the end of the Shang Dynasty, were using chemicals to
control insects. The Chinese continued to develop ever more sophisticated
chemicals and methods of controlling insects for crops and for people's comfort.
No doubt the spread of pest control know-how was helped by the advanced state of
Chinese writing ability. Although progress in pest control methods undoubtedly
continued, the next significant scrap of evidence does not come until around
750BC when Homer described the Greek use of wood ash spread on land as a form of
pest control.
Around 500BC the Chinese were using mercury and arsenic compounds as a means
to control body lice, a common problem throughout history. In 440BC the Ancient
Egyptian's used fishing nets to cover their beds or their homes at night as a
protection from mosquitoes
From 300BC
there is evidence of the use of use of predatory insects to control pests,
although this method was almost certainly developed before this date. The Romans
developed pest control methods and these ideas were spread throughout the
empire. In
200BC, Roman censor Cato encouraged the use of oils as a means of pest control
and in 70AD Pliny the Elder wrote that galbanum resin (from the fennel plant)
should be added to sulphur in order to discourage mosquitoes. In 13BC the first recorded rat-proof grain store was built by the Romans.
The first known instance where predatory insects were transported from one area to another comes from Arabia around 1000AD where date growers moved cultures of ants from neighboring mountains to their oasis plantations in order
to prey on phytophagous ants which attacked date palm.
Despite the enlightenment provided by the ancient Chinese, Arabs and Romans,
many of their teachings did not pass down though time. Certainly in Europe
during the dark ages, methods of pest control were just as likely to be based on
superstition and local spiritual rituals as any proven method. Pests were often
seen as workers of evil - especially those that ruined food, crops or livestock.
Although there were undoubtedly studies of pests during the dark ages, we do not
have any recorded evidence of this.
It is not until the European renaissance when more evidence of pest control
emerges. In 1758 the great Swedish botanist and taxonomist Carolus Linnaeus
catalogued and named many pests. His writings were (and remain) the root and
source of future study into pests (as well as plants and animals generally). At
the same time, the agricultural revolution began in Europe and heralded a more widespread application of pest control. With the work of Linnaeus and other
scholars and the commercial needs to ensure crops and livestock were protected,
pest control became more systemized and spread throughout the world. As global
trade increased, new pesticides were discovered.
At this point pest control was carried out by farmers and some householders
as an everyday activity. By the early nineteenth century however, this changed
as studies and writings started to appear that treated pest control as a
separate discipline. Increasing use of intensive and large scale farming brought
matching increases in the intensity and scale of pest scares such as the
disastrous potato famine in Ireland in 1840. Pest control management was scaled
up to meet these demands, to the point that dedicated pest controllers began to
emerge throughout the 20th century.
In 1921 the first crop-spraying aeroplane was employed and in 1962 flying insect control was revolutionized when Insect-o-cutor started selling fly killer machines using ultra violet lamps.
Pest control is still carried out by farmers and householders to this day.
There are also pest control specialists (sometimes called pesties); many
are one-person businesses and others work for large companies. In most countries
the pest control industry has been dogged by a few bad practitioners who have
tarnished the reputation for the highly professional and responsible majority.
One thing is for certain, from way before the Sumerians of 2500BC to us in modern times, there have always been - and probably always will be - pests (including some human ones!). Thank goodness, therefore, that we have pest controllers.

Boric acid is one of the many available chemicals (and one of the most effective) that can be used against insects and especially silverfish. Although it is found in many forms, including living ones, it is generally not considered to be a "natural product."
Properties - Desiccant
Boric's main action against silverfish is as a desiccant. This means that it kills them by absorbing all the moisture out of the insect's body. Without moisture, the silverfish cannot survive and quickly dies.
Properties - Poison
Boric acid's main advantage is as a desiccant. But it is also an effective poison. It can even kill humans but must be eaten in huge quantities - hence it is considered safe for home use.
But if a silverfish eats boric acid then it will quickly die. This is the basis of some types of silverfish traps - they are made entirely of cardboard that is saturated in the acid. Silverfish see the cardboard as food (carbohydrates are the mainstay of their diet) and they eat it, oblivious to the fact that it will kill them.
Properties - Abrasive
Boric powder is also highly abrasive. Insects including silverfish will often avoid it and those that attempt to travel through it can die due to the abrasive nature of the powder on their exoskeletons.
This is one reason why it is useful to throw boric acid powder into cracks and crevices where silverfish live. It will not only stop them from getting past the powder but it will also kill them if they try.
Natural Alternatives To Boric Acid
Boric is only lethal in large amounts. Amounts that are used against insects are also safe. However, if you have pets or small children then you might want to choose something safer.
Alternative Choice #1 - Powder
You can obtain powders that do not contain boric acid. They are not poisonous but they do have desiccant properties. They may be labelled or referred to as "botanical insect powders" because they are derived from plant oils.
Alternative Choice #1 - Traps
An alternative to boric acid traps are simple sticky insect traps but they are not considered as effective when used to target silverfish.
You can also make your own homemade trap by taking a glass jar (silverfish cannot climb smooth surfaces) and wrapping it in masking tape (giving the silverfish something to grip on). Put some carbohydrate type bait in the jar and then leave out. The silverfish won't die but they will be trapped and you can dispose of them as you see fit.

Natural Flea Killer and Home Remedy For Fleas
Looking for a safe, non-toxic natural flea killer? What about one so safe it can also be used orally as a natural wormer? Diatomaceous earth flea control is the answer. It is the best natural flea remedy: a simple home remedy for fleas that really works.
Paradoxically, in spite of remarkable diatomaceous earth insecticide characteristics, DE is completely non-toxic to mammals. The toxicity of DE is so low that it is not even counted as a foreign substance by the United States Department of Agriculture when used in grain for weevil control. It is also approved for use on organic farms without affecting their organic certification.
Diatomaceous earth (DE) is truly remarkable and amazingly useful around the home and farm, but what is it exactly and how does it work?
It is comprised of the bodies of diatoms - tiny fossilized plant planktons laid down as marine sediment 20 million or so years ago. There are a range of different grades of DE, varying in purity and fineness.
Science has confirmed diatomaceous earth insecticide properties which work to physically kill insects of all kinds. The tiny diatoms are razor sharp and act to rupture insects' protective outer membranes. Because of its high silica content, the DE then acts as a dessicant, killing the insect by drawing out its body moisture.
HOW TO USE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH AS A NATURAL FLEA KILLER
Dog kennels around the world are reporting increasing levels of resistance of fleas to chemical flea preparations. We turned to DE when the usual back-line flea treatments stopped working for us. We had already used it successfully to control lice in our chickens, and found it just as effective for natural flea control.
It is the simplest home remedy for fleas around. Just dust it lightly all over your pets, in their bedding and in areas they frequent. When applying to carpets, leave in for 3 days and use sparingly as heavy applications can play havoc with vacuum cleaners.
Be warned: the DE formulated for swimming pools is NOT an acceptable substitute for the ultra-fine grade that is referred to here. Swimming pool DE contains crystalline silica which can be hazardous to the respiratory system and is a potential poison.

All About Bee Pollen Benefits
Nearly everyone knows about honey, but not everyone knows about bee pollen benefits. What are the benefits of bee pollen?
* Potent antioxidants
* Prevents allergies
* Heals prostate problems
* Boosts men's sex life
* Makes exercise easy 198 characters
Let all-natural bee pollen benefits enhance your health. Make bee pollen an amino acid rich addition to your family's healing tools.
What Are the Health Benefits of Bee Pollen?
Who could know the health benefits of bee pollen better than a bee? When bees help themselves to nectar so they can make honey, they coat their legs with pollen. This bee pollen is collected for the colony's principal protein food when they return to the hive.
One of the most important bee pollen facts is that it is rich in antioxidants.
The antioxidants in bee pollen are compounds chemists call flavonoids. Bee pollen packs the punch of myricetin, quercetin, rutin, and trans-cinnamic acid. You don't need to remember their names, but take a look at what they can do for you.
Myricetin helps white blood cells soak up the "bad" LDL cholesterol out of the bloodstream. Quercetin is a natural antihistamine-the right kind of pollen can be beneficial for your allergies! Rutin is best known as the remedy for varicose veins. Rutin protects veins throughout the body and may help prevent cancer as well. Your body uses trans-cinnamic acid to make its own antibiotics, and this potent nutrient also powers the detoxifying processes of the liver.
Another key bee pollen fact is that it is a source of complete nutrition. Bee pollen is richer in protein than any flesh-based food. Gram for gram, bee pollen supplements contain more amino acids than fish, beef, or eggs.
What else is in bee pollen? This nutritional supplement contains:
* Enzymes
* Coenzymes
* 18 amino acids
* DNA and RNA
* Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, E, and K
* Folic acid
* Niacin
* Pantothenic acid
* Choline
* Inositol
* Iron
* And Zinc
One of the most interesting bee pollen facts is that the whole of the pollen is greater than its nutritional parts. Insect scientists conducted an experiment in which they took away bee pollen and replaced it with a synthetic mix. This "bee chow" contained every known nutrient in their food.
First the bees first failed to thrive. Then they failed to survive. Nothing artificial can substitute for natural bee pollen.
Bees add some "unknown extra" of their own to bee pollen. This may be the reason bee pollen is so useful in treating a variety of human health conditions.
Sneeze no more!
Bee pollen products treat allergies. Doctors have prescribed pollen for over a hundred years. Bee pollen injections desensitize pollen sufferers. Allergists use "allergy shots" to stop hay fever, hives, rashes, and asthma.
Doctors developed this method at St. Mary's Hospital in London about 1903. In the original method, the nurse gives an injection of pollen and water once a week for several months. The first injection may be 1 part pollen in 100,000 parts of water. The last injection may be 1 part pollen in 10 parts of water.
These potentially painful shots teach the immune system not to respond to pollen. They reduce the immune system's power. They keep it from becoming "hypersensitive" to harmless plants.
But when bee pollen is taken as a nutritional supplement rather than as an injection, the allergies still go away. The difference is the immune system is stronger, not weaker.
Dr. Lee Conway of Denver, Colorado in the USA treats his allergy patients with bee pollen. All his patients who take bee pollen every day remain free from all allergy symptoms. They don't get new allergies when they move to new places. They stay allergy-free.
"Half the Pain, Twice the Pleasure."
That's how a German publication for physicians described bee pollen benefits for men with prostate problems. Over 20 scientific studies have found that bee pollen supports men's sexual health.
How? Chronic prostate problems result from the accumulation of free radicals of oxygen in the seminal fluid. Free radicals of oxygen cause a "burn" at the cellular level. Bee pollen puts out the fire.
The benefit of sexual activity without burning, dribbling, swollen sensation is clear. But what about bee pollen and male fertility?
The most comprehensive research in this area comes from China. Researchers first found that chronic prostate inflammation and male infertility both result from the accumulation of free radicals of oxygen. They then set about finding which product stops the production of free radicals.
Their answer? Bee pollen. The very best relief for infectious prostate inflammation was a combination of conventional medication and bee pollen. Bee pollen all by itself was 80 percent as effective as antibiotics. Bee pollen was free of side effects. It cost a lot less.
The key bee pollen benefit was to increase fertility. Sperm swam faster and lasted longer. They were more motile and viable.
How did bee pollen accomplish this? The answer is zinc. Bee pollen delivers a unique combination of zinc and antioxidants. It maximizes the effectiveness of this mineral for men's sexual health.
Bee Pollen is for Women Too
Twenty years ago American researchers discovered that bee pollen might treat women's cancers. Their government sponsors quickly covered up their findings. Doctors in Austria heard about them anyway.
Dr. Peter Hernuss and his team set out to help twenty-five women suffering from inoperable uterine cancer. They couldn't remove the cancer, so the doctors gave the women chemotherapy. Half the women also received bee pollen. Even under the worst possible medical conditions, bee pollen benefits were clear.
The fortunate women who took bee pollen with their food quickly acquired an immune system boost. Their labs showed:
* Increased antibody production
* More red blood cells
* More hemoglobin
* And a higher concentration of cancer-fighting natural killer (NK) cells.
Taking bee pollen with food lessened the terrible nausea that goes along with chemotherapy. Simply put, the complete nutrition in bee pollen prevented starvation. Bee pollen prevented the loss of muscle tissue.
Bee pollen benefits even included keeping hair loss to a minimum. Without bee pollen, there was no comparable benefit.
How Do You Use Bee Pollen?
Take two bee pollen tablets once or twice daily with meals, or as recommended by your health care professional. Scientists have found that bee pollen retains its antioxidant potency for up to three years during storage under household conditions.
Caution: Bee pollen side effects are very rare, but they are possible in sensitive individuals. There has been one case in which a person who had severe reactions to mold had a severe reaction to bee pollen This product had been improperly stored in heat and damp. It contained mold.
Bee pollen is not recommended for women who are or who may become pregnant. Discontinue and consult with your healthcare provider if you experience adverse reactions. Bee pollen reactions are unheard of in comprehensive supplements of which bee pollen is only one part.

24 Pregnancy Tips - The Pregnant Woman's Unborn Baby's Health Guide
What are the risks that every expectant woman faces in her pregnancy and needs to know about and be weary of while carrying her baby? Just being aware of the dangers that can harm your unborn baby and affect your health will give you a great insight on how to stay healthy throughout your pregnancy. Of course the most evident risk causers for a pregnant woman and her unborn child are smoking and alcohol. Also her eating habits in pregnancy are important too.
The facts on how and what to do to ensure women having a healthy pregnancy and delivering a healthy baby, is on a wide scale campaigned around the world religiously, and yet some women choose to ignore this. If you are unlike these particular women and want the help and advice available then you most certainly are doing yourself and your unborn infant a great favor.
It`s natural for most women to have the mommy come out in them as soon as their tummy shows signs of swelling. And what do mums do, yes they protect their young, whether on the outside or inside the womb. You'll want to do everything you can to keep your baby safe throughout pregnancy. Here are some indicators to follow to make that happen:
Smoking increases the risk of your baby having a low birth weight or being born prematurely. Cigarette smoking is a killer. It is the major cause of lung cancer too.
Alcohol can seriously affect your unborn baby. There is no safe limit of alcohol intake, so it really is best to stop drinking throughout the nine months. Even after giving birth you need to cut down for overall health.
Caffeine study results linked drinking too much caffeine in beverages could lead to miscarriage and low birth weight. The safe suggestion for caffeine intake in a day is 300mg a day. Still check this out with your GP
Specific foods like Pt, peanuts, under-cooked eggs and particular cheeses can be dangerous.
Toxoplasmosis is a parasite found in most dairy products. It is best to seek medical advice about this as it is known to be contained in unpasteurised milk and cheeses, meat not thoroughly cooked - specific root vegetables and cat faeces. An infected woman while carrying a baby and depending on the stage of the pregnancy can result in miscarriage, birth defects and stillbirth. Cook meat thoroughly and wash all fruit and vegetables.
You are not to take drugs; drugs should come from a doctor and not a dealer off the streets.
The effects of smoking cannabis on your unborn baby are uncertain, but still a silly thing to do while carrying a baby. Ecstasy causes dehydration and has been linked to birth defects. Ecstasy tablets have been the cause of many deaths in teenagers. Certain drugs taken in pregnancy can have you deliver a baby with an addiction to the drugs you were taking (cocaine, heroin and crack.)
Paracetamol given via prescription to pregnant women for headaches or other must never be taken at any other time without your GP saying it is safe to do so first. Paracetamol if taken in moderation in pregnancy is considered safe, however still best to do without if possible during the critical months (first 3). Aspirin has been linked to miscarriage and neonatal heart defects. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen should be crossed off your list as a regular painkiller until your baby is born
Heartburn treatments like antacid solutions are generally safe, however because each woman differs, her need for this type of treatment may not be acceptable to keep her and her baby safe. Have the safety level of this determined by your midwife
Complementary solutions You should avoid treatment you are unfamiliar with or may be never heard of. If you have never heard of a product or service before, then this may well be telling you something. Clarify any uncertainties with your doctor. Unless a specific treatment, such as acupressure for treating nausea, or massage to relieve backache has been approved by medics then you must not be tempted to practice or try them out.
If you're travelling abroad to a hot country be careful with insect repellents you use to protect yourself from insect bites. If they consist of an ingredient called "Deet! then avoid using this as it has been linked to damaging the nervous system. You will also need to find out the safe times you are permitted to fly in your pregnancy to keep you and your baby safe.
X-rays; if you have any inclination that you are pregnant you must inform the person who is doing the x-ray on your broken arm or leg. All x-rays use radiation, which can harm your unborn baby. Dental x-rays are considered safe, but don`t leave anything to chance tell your dentist you are pregnant.
Pregnant women need to ensure their well being and that of their baby`s by avoiding being around people with particular sicknesses i.e. chickenpox, which can cause serious concerns in your pregnancy so seek medical attention if you think you have caught chicken pox. If a pregnant woman catches German measles there is a great risk of damage to the baby in the womb. Seriousness of this infection in pregnancy, although uncommon has seen abortion suggested. Thankfully most young women today have been vaccinated against German measles
Seat belts although created with safety in mind, should have you weary and especially more so when using a lap belt. These have been known to cause serious injuries to unborn babies. Use a three point seat belt and make sure the diagonal strap is in-between your breasts, resting on your shoulder, breastbone and over your tummy. Place the lap part of the belt across your thighs under your tummy.
Keeping baby and you healthy throughout your pregnancy
Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
Cut down on foods that contains too much salt and sugar
Essential eats are Omega Oils that come from Flax (Linseed), Fish (not shellfish.) Nuts and Seeds are good in pregnancy and helps with baby`s growth
Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables
Don`t attempt to detox or lose weight during pregnancy
Eat foods rich in Iron, late into the pregnancy (watercress, dark green vegetables, dried apricots, molasses, pumpkin seeds, and parsley.)
For a healthy pregnancy, go walking, swimming and attend regular prenatal yoga classes.
Have your GP give you the thumbs up for any type of exercise you tend on doing.
If you are worried about stretch marks then you can do what most other women do to help this from happening, Oil your belly, breasts and bottom! Keep these body parts oiled to avoid stretch marks and dry itchy skin! Consider using Coconut Oil which is supposedly supposed to be very effective. Feeling good about yourself while pregnant will always give you a positive outlook about everything involved with your pregnancy. So start today and feel good about yourself.

How to Kill Termites - Rid Your House of Termites Using a Professional Termite Exterminator
How do I kill termites? That's a question I was forced to ask myself once I discovered that my home had become the breeding ground for a termite invasion of monster proportions. As a result of that rather unpleasant experience I can tell you that messing around with termites and attempting to eliminate them on your own without the assistance of a professional termite company or pest exterminator may not be your best choice.
Termites are a very destructive group of insects that reside in a colony and can literally bring your house down due to the veracious appetite for wood. The key to successfully getting your home rid of termites is quick identification of your problem. Because other insects such as a powder post beetle, carpenter ants and old house borers can give the appearance that you have a termite infestation you should always take the extra step to have a professional termite killer come out and evaluate your situation.
With so many different types of termites (flying, drywood, formosan and subterranean) and with each type capable of various degrees of damage you want to make sure you know firsthand what type of insect you are dealing with.
There are several different termite treatments and they include liquid termiticides, termite baits, borate treatments and fumigation and a large list of specific products such as Firstline, Terminate, Bora Care, Nibor-D, Jecta Gel, Vikane and Spectrum Bait just to name a few.
The main reason I advocate for the use of a professional termite prevention treatment is because they come equipped with a type of insecticide call non-repellents. The effective use of this type of termite treatment allows the killing agent to be spread from one termite to the next effectively wiping out the entire termite colony.
As someone who has gone through the traumatic experience of dealing with a home termite invasion I can tell you first hand that dealing with these hideous insects quickly and aggressively is the only true way to get rid of your termite problem once and for all.

What Happens When You Travel Faster Than Sound?
Sound waves are like ripples in a pond that radiate around the object. An aeroplane travelling at sub-sonic speed will be travelling behind the sound that it has emitted. When the aeroplane reaches the exact speed of sound, the sound it is producing will accompany it on its journey. This can be very dangerous. Why? Because while it is travelling at the speed of sound, there will be a continuous build up of sound around the aircraft. As new sounds are produced, the aircraft will fly along with those new sounds - and so on. Eventually, the racket will break up the aircraft!
Because of this, aeroplanes break through the sound barrier. They will travel at subsonic speed for a while, and then accelerate rapidly until they have passed through and left the build up of sound behind them. Meanwhile anyone below will hear the sonic boom as sound waves radiate to the ground.
Light travels much faster than sound and no machine has ever been built that gets anywhere near the speed of light. It is theoretically impossible to reach this speed as it would require infinite energy (or limited energy over an infinite time period). If the laws of physics could be broken and the speed of light reached or surpassed, the forward momentum would become perpetual.
The difference in the speed of light and sound waves can be demonstrated by observing a large cannon being fired. If you used a powerful telescope to observe the cannon firing at a half mile distance (for example), you would actually hear the blast at a fraction of a second after seeing it being fired. A more common example is the gap between a lightening strike and thunder. We all know that the difference in time between the two represents the distance of the thunderstorm from the observer.
A final example is one of our fly killer machines. If you could film an unfortunate fly being zapped by the Insectocutor IND41 with the movie camera and microphone at one end of a large room, the slow motion replay would show a distinctive gap between the flash, as the insect is electrocuted and the fizzing sound that it makes.
Of course, nobody can hear an approaching aircraft travelling faster than sound. Only after it has passed will you hear anything. Luckily for us, wasps and flies are not this fast!

BEE KILLER
Video Clips. Duration : 1.38 Mins.
BEE KILLER
Insects in the Diptera family Asilidae are commonly called robber flies. The family Asilidae contains about 7100 described species worldwide. All robber flies have stout, spiny legs, a dense moustache of bristles on the face (mystax), and 3 simple eyes (ocelli) in a characteristic depression between their two large compound eyes. The mystax helps protect the head and face when the fly encounters prey bent on defense. The antennae are short, 3-segmented, sometimes with a bristle-like structure called an arista. The short, strong proboscis is used to stab and inject victims with saliva containing neurotoxic and proteolytic enzymes which paralyze and digest the insides; the fly then sucks the liquefied meal through the proboscis. Many species have long, tapering abdomens, sometimes with a sword-like ovipositor. Others are fat-bodied bumblebee mimics. Adult robber flies attack other flies, beetles, butterflies and moths, various bees, ants, dragon and damselflies, Ichneumon wasps, grasshoppers, and some spiders.
Scabies is an infectious skin condition which is caused by the parasitic mites beneath the surface of the skin. They could be spread from one human host to another, while coming into contact with the infested human being. These mites are microscopic in nature and hence the symptoms appear about one or two weeks after the infestation.
Scabies can cause a lot of discomfort during pregnancy. Studies have shown that insecticides used to cure scabies can adversely affect the embryo and hence can have a negative impact on the infant. Usually 6-8% of the scabies repellent is absorbed at the time when it is externally applied to the skin.
Permethrin is another effective medicine used for the treatment of scabies. It is also an insecticide and is sold as a 5% lotion. It does not pose any side effects and therefore is safe to use during pregnancy. In most cases, the first trimester of pregnancy is crucial and therefore care must be taken. Lactating women must not apply the scabicides on the breasts and must keep the child away, so that the condition is not infested in the child.
Try and use the natural medications for scabies, since these are free from chemicals or all kinds of side effects. You may also consider the application of tea tree oil which would help in reducing the symptoms of scabies and create a soothing effect. Tea tree oil possesses curative properties which can also help aid and eliminate the underlying parasites. Tea tree oil is not a complete scabies killer but it can be used in conjunction with a scabies treatment to help make the healing process faster.
I hope you're not discontented while this is again one of my boring walkers. For me this is something quite new, since it's my first one-set-MOC published on YouTube. (Spring 2006 I made the NXT-CRAB which is on my brickshelf.) NXT-FOWL turned out quite easy to build hence the limited amount of parts in the 2.0 set. The programming on the other hand is not finished yet; what you see here is some first footage of getting the right gait.

Silverfish Killer - What is the Best Way to Kill Silverfish?
A good silverfish killer should be efficient, easy to use and cheap. Silverfish are fast and nimble creatures and demand the utmost respect when it comes to their extermination. However, they can be beaten and in this article I'll share with you what I think are the top three best ways to kill silverfish, including the number one silverfish killer.
Number 3 - Powder
Powder is great against silverfish. You can sprinkle it in gaps in walls and wherever else silverfish may be coming from. They won't be able to get past it.
If they touch it, they will lose all the moisture inside them and they will quickly die. That's if their exoskeletons are not already damaged by the abrasive nature of the powder.
You can get pesticide or natural powder. If you go for the former, then it will have the added benefit that if the silverfish eat it then they will also be poisoned. However, if you go for the latter then it's still frankly good enough.
Number 2 - Traps
Some people don't like to sprinkle powder around at home. Or, you might want to have even more weapons in your arsenal to defeat your foe. Traps are then a great idea.
The most basic kind of trap is a sticky insect trap. If the silverfish get too curious then they will become stuck to the adhesive interior of the trap. The good thing about this kind of trap is that you are left with no mess.
The better kind of trap is just made of cardboard and soaked in boric acid. When the silverfish eat it, they are poisoned and they quickly die. This is the most efficient type of trap you can get and they are also very cheap. The only problem is that you have to sweep up a few silverfish carcasses around the trap but this is really not that big of a deal.
The reason why traps are number 2 is that they are generally less messy that powder and they are also extremely efficient. You certainly won't be left thinking " where do silverfish come from " and scratching your head!
Number 1, Best Way - You
Laying down powder and traps is not enough to get rid of silverfish. To beat this enemy, you have to play smart.
Silverfish need two things to survive: food and water. You need to exploit this to get rid of them. This means vacuuming often and checking your humidity. Do you have any leaks in the house?
There is also no need to use chemicals. You can wipe them all out using natural, non-toxic and/or organic silverfish killers.
If you focus on your strategy then you can easily defeat silverfish, even if there are others in your apartment block who still have them.

Join Master Gardener William Moss as he shares his tips on creating the perfect container garden. William suggests using planted containers to spruce up your deck, balcony, or outdoor stairways. You can also use them to host an organic vegetable garden or organic fruit garden! Using a process he calls the "meat, vegetable, starch" process, you select plants based on three different areas: "meat" being the center focal point, "vegetables" being a compliment to the "meat", and "starch" being any filler plants that can be used to create depth or to hang over the sides of the container. Moss suggests using organic gardening products, such as Safer® Brand products, when caring for your herb, vegetable, or fruit gardens because they do not create an adverse affect on the environment.
